Herbalism

Living in harmony with nature

I have always been filled with great reverence for nature. The comfort, awe and serenity that nature provides is a source of faith for me, a guiding light that leads to undeniable truths and a purposeful existence. It is this sentiment that has inspired my path to herbalism.

To deepen my relationship with nature, I began volunteering on farms through the World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms (WWOOF) organization. The first farm I volunteered for was Root Work Herbalsa medicinal herb farm in upstate NY. I gardened, built drying racks, harvested and wildcrafted herbs, made medicine, worked at a farmers market, etc. Soon after, I was accepted into a 3 month internship at Herb Pharm in Southern Oregon. Since then I have completed extensive studies with Vermont Center for Integrative Herbalism, Herbal Academy of New England, Thyme Herbal and Farmacy Herbs

My work with plants ranges from vegetable farming at Elliot Farm in Lakeville MA, working in herbal apothecaries such as The Little Herb Shoppe in Littleton, NH and Farmacy Herbs in Providence RI, and counseling at risk youth as a wilderness therapy field instructor at Pacific Quest in Hawaii. Currently, I offer herbal consultations where I educate and empower my clients to use herbs to support their health goals. I also partner with local edible landscape design, gardening and education service Edible Homescapes and local non-profit Farm & Community Collaborative working to improve the health of our community, land, environment and local food systems.
